DIY Knitting Kit Basic Beanie

Basic Beanie - Catarina Távora

Designed by Catarina Távora from Companhia das Agulhas in Portugal, this project uses Woool’e, 60% recycled wool and 40% recycled cotton, plastic-free.

The Basic Beanie was designed to have an urban look, ideal for everyday use, making it a staple accessory in your wardrobe. It's also very easy to make. The brim is long and can be folded once for extra coziness and warmth in the colder winter months.

The size and length of the hat are easily adjustable for a perfect fit. Please refer to the notes for a detailed description. Keep in mind that adapting the hat might require using more or less yarn than estimated.

This kit contains:

• 100g Woool’e, by Hoooked
• 3.5 mm / US 4 Knitting circular needles
• 4 mm / US 6 circular knitting needles
• Printed Patterns in English, Dutch, German, Spanish, and French

You will also need:

• 1 stitch marker for the beginning of round
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Measuring tape

Measurements:

Final measurements after blocking, without stretching:

• To fit head circumference: 53-58.5 cm / 21-23 inches
• Total length (with folded brim): 24 cm / 9.5 inches
• Total length (with brim unfolded): 33 cm / 13 inches

Gauge:

Measured without overstretching the blocked fabric:

22 stitches and 24 rows for a tension swatch of 10 x 10 cm, using 4 mm knitting needles, in stockinette stitch worked in the round.

Always adjust the needle size to obtain the right gauge.
