Mãos de Vera by Naná Oliveira in Portugal designed this pair of mittens using Woool’e, a yarn made entirely from recycled pre-consumer textile waste sourced from the Portuguese fashion industry, consisting of 60% recycled wool and 40% recycled cotton.

Fingerless mittens are incredibly useful, especially for those who want to keep their hands warm in winter while still being able to use a laptop or phone. These mittens are a fast and simple project to knit, with instant gratification. The diamond-shaped textured design adds a touch of uniqueness to the project, making it enjoyable to work on. It's perfect for knitting on the go.

The mittens are knit starting from the cuff, with increases to form the thumb opening, ending at the fingers. You can knit them in three sizes—small, medium, or large—depending on your hand size. The pattern is knit in the round using the magic loop method, though you can also use 5 double-pointed needles if preferred.

This kit contains:

• 100g Woool’e, by Hoooked
• 4 mm / US 6 knitting needles with a cable of 80 cm / 31.5 in
• Printed patterns in English, Dutch, German, Spanish, and French

You will also need:

• Stitch markers
• Waste yarn
• Tapestry needle
• Measuring tape
• Scissors

• To fit a hand circumference of 18 (19; 20.5) cm / 7 (7.5; 8) in
• Total length – 24 (25, 25) cm / 9.45 (9.84, 9.84) in

Gauge:

Knit 18 stitches and 30 rows for a tension swatch of 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) using a 4.00 mm needle in Stockinette stitch.

If your swatch is smaller or larger, we recommend adjusting your needle size to avoid deviations.
